GENEROUS ST.JOHN DONORS TAKE A VISIT

Mr and Mrs Oliver visited Action with St. John’s fundraising manager this month for a workshop tour. The Olivers have generously donated a significant amount of money to St. John and other medical organisations, and another ambulance will soon be built with yet another donation.

Mr Oliver was given the option to ride on the electric stretcher in the rear of the ambulance with Antz (Special Vehicle Team Leader) in front. The ride and Antz’s kindness in taking time out of his busy schedule to give Mr Oliver the complete Action experience left him speechless.

The size of Actions’ #32 workshop shocked the Olivers as well. Everyone’s contribution and effort have really stood out. Excellent effort, team.

ACTION VOLUNTEERING - COMMUNITY WORKING-BEE

The action team dedicated six hours of their day on February 23 to restoring the local Bankwood stream. This was the first of many community conservation days in collaboration with the Fairfield Project, an urban biodiversity and gully restoration project.

We constructed four tracking tunnels to check for pest presence in addition to weeding to protect juvenile plants.

As part of the Fairfield Project, the Kukutaaruhe gully is to be fully restored so that the native kokopu (giant whitebait) and local kuku (native wood pigeon) can flourish once again. We are proud to support this initiative and eagerly anticipate the next conservation day in mid-May.
